Village Day 2018 proved once again to be a great success, and thankfully the rain stayed away long enough for everyone to enjoy their afternoon. Our new vicar the Rev. Peter Hart opened the event at 12.00 before going on to judge the Best Lemon Drizzle and Decorated Cup Cakes. Out on the field the sports events proved to be popular with lots of different races entered into and medals won.
Alongside bouncy castles, dog shows, steam trains and birds of prey there were plenty of stalls raising money for good causes.
The afternoon entertainment was provided by Rich Parsons, while the BBQ and beer tent ensured everyone was kept well fed and watered. Inside the Village Hall was a historic display of photographs depicting village life, while The WI provided refreshments alongside the stall holders who had come to demonstrate their arts and crafts skills.
Local band Grateful Dads provided the evening’s entertainment and the day ended with a spectacular Fireworks Display. A big thank you to everyone involved in putting this event together. Please see our facebook page for photos.
