Hundreds of people gathered at the National Memorial Arboretum yesterday to pay tribute to police officers who have died on duty.

Care of Police Survivors (COPS) charity, which supports the surviving families of officers, welcomed the crowds for their 15th Annual Service of Remembrance. Over 200 police officers and staff rode into the event, having cycled hundreds of miles from various locations across the UK, as far as John O’Groats, in the Police Unity Tour.

The charity ride has raised over £100,000 in aid of COPS. A Roll of Honour was called naming the seven officers who have died in the last year, along with heartfelt readings by family members. The Service was supported by the Forces, who laid wreaths at The Beat memorial.
